Cody, my love

the last few posts i've done were pre-scheduled, because on Monday i went on a posting frenzy.

 

i'm extremely sad and don't know what to do with myself. on Tuesday, the 23rd, my handsome dog, Cody, died. he was my fluff ball and by best buddy. i don't know who to bring out on the front porch with me while i read a book or who to help me pick out tomorrows outfit in the wee hours of the night. i don't know what to do with myself.

 

on Tuesday we decided to take him to the vet because he wasn't acting right -- he wasn't going out for walks, he would lay down and want to be alone a lot, and he wouldn't even eat chicken if we waved it infront of his nose. the nurse said he was fine, but they'd take him back to do some blood tests. she said that he was very dehydrated, so they would keep him overnight and hook him up to fluids. i was opposed at first, but after thinking that it would be beneficial to him, i said ok.

 

about 25 minutes after my dad, sister, and i got home, they called and told us that Cody collapsed. they tried to revive him, but nothing was working. our sweet, sweet boy was gone.

 

i was going to put this post on hold longer, but i want to be happy again. it's so SO hard. i still haven't wrapped my head around the thought that i won't have someone to play with after school. i won't have someone to cuddle with at night. i won't have someone to take on walks around the golf course now that it's Spring.

 

after many talks with the vet and a lot of research into this, they found out it was Addison's Disease. a rare disease that he was born with. it starts developing rapidly at the ages of 6 and 7 and then signs start kicking in like loss of appetite and lack of energy. Cody died at 7 years old.

 

he was such a good boy. it's so hard to deal with here and it's so lonely. i lost my best friend. he had the quirkiest and most adorable personality and i will never forget all the little poses and faces he made. i just can't believe and i'm in such shock that my little buddy isn't walking around this house right now. it came upon us so fast and all happened so quickly. it was so unexpected.

 

words can't describe how much i miss him. he was the best friend and brother anyone could ask for. rest in peace, little man. i love you so, so much.

the 'escape' wasn't as fun as i though it would be. one more night!

 

any special plans for your weekend? did you watch the news last night? i turned it off and then saw tweets that he was captured and turned it back on and missed it! and now there's the craziness in Texas -- what's happening, America?!

so i'm super excited because this weekend i'm house sitting/dog sitting my neighbor's house/dog -- i'm excited because i feel like i'll get to escape the craziness of my house and it'll give me some time alone. woo! i'm really excited!

prom sighs

you guys, i really really really want to be asked to prom. i'm not usually like this... but i'm just waiting to walk into my room and see 'prom?' written on a bunch of balloons, or walk out of my house and see 'prom?' spelled out using a bunch of tea lights.

 

i wish my puppy love didn't ask a slut to prom this year. which he did. i wish he asked me instead.

yum i love sprinkles! and here's a cheers to you all on the first hot day in PA of 2013! it's WONDERFUL! i'll take warm weather over cold any day, and i'm in love with this day.

March favorites

lately i've been obsessed with Zoella, on YouTube. have you heard of her? she'll be coming up in some more posts i have lined up, but for now, i thought i'd just tell you how cute she is! she's really great and i can't get enough.

 

anyway, at the end of each month she does a video about her favorites from the past month. it's really clever and a great blog idea!

 

so here are a few of my favorites from March:

 

1. this really cute change purse! it's rubber and it's the cutest color and i love it. it's so simple and i take it everywhere, even though i already have a big wallet with a money pouch in it.



2. this peel-off face mask! this is probably my most favorite thing this month. it's FANTASTIC! you just put it on, let it dry, and then peel it off. my face is super clear! i would say it's because i'm not stressed out, but we're in the middle of our research paper right now, and i'm pretty darn stressed out. it's only $4 and does wonders! i highly recommend this face mask.

3. this super cute bracelet! (ignore my 'math book' reminder ;) ) but it's a bow and i loooove it. i always feel like my wrists are bare without something on them, so i usually wear my watch on this side, but lately i've had this cutie on.

 

4. this mineral wear powder! if you haven't noticed, i splurged at Ulta one day. about 2 weeks ago i went to Ulta because i wanted to give myself a pamper evening and came out with GREAT stuff. this doesn't do too much actual covering up, but it's the perfect color and it seemed like it was healthy for my skin because it's 'mineral wear'. it gives my skin a nice glow :)

5. this Illegal Length mascara! it's put out by Maybelline and  like how it's a brush, instead of a plastic applicator. i asked the lady at the store if they have any mascaras that curl and she showed me these ridiculously expensive ones. they were fabulous, don't get me wrong, but i'm not spending $23 on mascara! anyone have any wonderful mascaras they wouldn't mind telling me about?

here's a belated, but fabulous, Etsy Wednesday for you!

i don't know if i'm going to prom this year... i don't want to be one of 'those' girls, but a date would be nice to have! i mean, i think if i'm spending somewhere around $60 or something crazy like that for a ticket, i should have a nice time ;) but anyway! these dresses by Katherine Kerrison are definitely super pretty. while they might be a little informal and plain and definitely out of my price range, i'm still in love with them! that last one makes me swoon.

i looove this idea. i absolutely love it. and one day this Summer (or this weekend) i'm going to make a giant fort in my room and watch romance flicks all night. i love it.
