(hopefully)

Happy Saturday morning! I'm in a positive mood today and I don't know why. I mean, I'm usually happy, but on Saturdays at school I'm usually not just because I'm usually annoyed with all the drunkies around and there isn't anywhere to go but campus so I get frustrated. I'm sitting here in the union on my computer doing homework at 11 am and I'm getting happy about all the exciting things in my future. I'm excited that this is (hopefully) my last semester at this school because I'm (hopefully) going to transfer (I turned in the application and am just waiting to hear back).

The other day I was sitting with my art therapy friends and I started to think, is this what I want? To leave these friends that I've become so close with behind? All the clubs I've joined. All the experiences I've had. Do I want to leave all that to start over completely at another school? Ultimately, I said yes. I feel that if I'm so confident to leave all of that behind, I'm really ready.

So I'm prepared to make the most of this last (hopefully) semester. I'm going to take in all the fun times with my friends and go to all my club activities because in a few short months I'll (hopefully) be starting a new chapter in life in a new city.

Hope your Saturday is filled with happiness!

P.S. The weather is getting chillier! Yay, Fall!

The pictures are from my hike at Hawk Mountain back in July.

Here

Have you heard this song? I actually feel like it describes my life perfectly right now, it's kinda weird.

Here
Alessia Cara

I'm sorry if I seem uninterested
Or I'm not listenin' or I'm indifferent
Truly, I ain't got no business here
But since my friends are here
I just came to kick it but really
I would rather be at home all by myself not in this room
With people who don't even care about my well-being
I don't dance, don't ask, I don't need a boyfriend
So you can go back, please enjoy your party
I'll be here, somewhere in the corner under clouds of marijuana
With this boy who's hollering I can hardly hear
Over this music I don't listen to and I don't wanna get with you
So tell my friends that I'll be over here

Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here oh oh oh
I ask myself what am I doing here?
Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here
And I can't wait till we can break up outta here

Excuse me if I seem a little unimpressed with this
An anti-social pessimist but usually I don't mess with this
And I know you mean only the best and
Your intentions aren't to bother me
But honestly I'd rather be
Somewhere with my people we can kick it and just listen
To some music with the message (like we usually do)
And we'll discuss our big dreams
How we plan to take over the planet
So pardon my manners, I hope you'll understand
That I'll be here
Not there in the kitchen with the girl
Who's always gossiping about her friends
So tell them I'll be here
Right next to the boy who's throwing up cause
He can't take what's in his cup no more
Oh God why am I here?

Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here oh oh oh
I ask myself what am I doing here?
Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here
And I can't wait till we can break up outta here

Hours later congregating next to the refrigerator
Some girl's talking bout her haters
She ain't got none
How did it ever come to this
I shoulda never come to this
So holla at me I'll be in the car when you're done
I'm standoffish, don't want what you're offering
And I'm done talking
Awfully sad it had to be that way
So tell my people when they're ready that I'm ready
And I'm standing by the TV with my beanie low
Yo I'll be over here

Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here oh oh oh
I ask myself what am I doing here?
Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here
And I can't wait till we can break up outta here

Comforting Songs

I'm hesitant to listen to new songs; I'm really not sure why because it only takes 3 minutes! Here are some songs you may or may not know - these songs always seem to comfort me.

Noah and the Whale / 5 Years Time

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros / Home

Holocene / Bon Iver

White Winter Hymnal / Birdy

Breathe Me / Sia

What about you?

Happy Monday

I read something the other day that really made me think:

The most dangerous risk of all - the risk of spending your life not doing what you want on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later.

I feel like this really applies to me right now. I'm constantly telling myself that "next year will be better" and "When I make it through this point in my life, it'll get better". I really need to think about that and turn things around. Why am I waiting for the future to have a life that I really love? That's why I really thinking about my life now and making the changes I want to in order to live the best life I can.

Are you doing everything to live the best life you can? Think about it :)

Recently

My posts have been pretty wordy lately, but I guess that's what happens when a new school year starts, haha! So here's another one.

I'm so weird. I thought that I loved change, but lately I'm feeling like that's completely the opposite. Maybe it's the school I'm at? Maybe it's the people I'm with? Have you ever felt this way?

The same thing happened last year and the year ended up going really fast, but I feel like overall, I'm just not happy where I am. A bunch of my friends at my school are transferring and it's so crazy to me because I was going to transfer last year. This year I'm thinking harder about it and I want to actually experience things. I'm stuck on this campus and I feel like I' not doing anything with my life. I think I really want to look into something so that I'm not wasting another whole year. Plus, I'm overall tired and annoyed with the people I'm around. I like to do things by myself most of the time and here there is just no place to get away.

I'm completely stuck in a rut and am not sure what to do but my gut is telling me to do it. I found another school that really excites me and I also really just want to leave the school that I'm at right now. What are your thoughts? Should I do what my gut says or research more first?

Hope your Friday is a great one.

Autochrome

Have you seen these pictures from 1913 by photographer Mervyn O’Gorman?! It's so weird seeing such old pictures in color. They look like they could have been taken this year with a film camera! I read an article that said he used potato starch to make the colors some to life. The pictures are apparently of his daughter - over 100 years later and still circulating for people to see.

Thankful for:

Ok, so, I talk about my journal a lot. In my journal every now and then I'll write a page with just things I'm thankful for at that particular moment. I feel like I've written a post like this before, have I? Well, anyway. Here are a list of some things that I'm thankful for on this hot September day...

Catfish: The TV Show

A wide open future

The feeling that nothing is permanent

New beginnings

Fall

Art studios

Lucille Ball

Librarys

Snail mail

Cold showers

Staying in at night

What are YOU thankful for?

Have a great day!

September!

It's crazy that it's finally September! That means it's basically Fall, right?

But seriously, Fall is my absolute favorite season. I'm really not a fan of the cold, but Fall is different. Yes, it can be annoying to want to dress all warm and cozy while it's still 70 out, but that's not the point. The smells, the colors, the drinks, the food. Fall is the best!

My computer is driving me NUTS! It's so slow and keeps closing programs and websites when I open them. I want to post things, but it's too frustrating! I'll try to figure out something to resolve this because it's getting super irritating.

Hope you're having an awesome Monday :)

Love, Rosie

The other week my friend, Alexandra, showed me a movie she really loves called Love, Rosie and it was SO good! I need to watch it again soon. It's a romantic comedy and it had a really good balance of both. I can't really write a good description of it, but check out the trailer below and definitely watch the movie!

Hope your day was awesome!

Currently

(I'm dreaming of Fall)

Loving: My job! I work as a receptionist at Great Clips and it's just awesome. I love getting to talk to new people everyday and the people I work with are so nice and funny. I'm sad I'm only there for a few more weeks, but I'm so grateful for my opportunity to work there.

Watching: PRISON BREAK. I'm SO obsessed I can't even really explain. Have you watched it? I totally recommend. The first season is definitely my favorite but the other seasons are still really great. And the series finale is so heart-wrenching. Dominic Purcell is such a fantastic actor and I could watch this show over and over. Also, have you heard they're coming out with a season 5 after all these years?

Reading: Paper Towns. I started reading it a while ago because I wanted to finish it before the movie came out (LOL) an I'm still reading it. I love it though!

Anticipating: Moving back to Massachusetts for school! Most of my friends are leaving soon, and some have even already left. I'm ready to go back, I think. I kind of don't want to leave my friends, but I'm definitely ready to have my own space again.

Listening to: A lot, actually. I've been really loving Shawn Mendes, though! I had no idea who he was, but I heard his song Stitches and I really like it. Oh! And I love Cool for the Summer by Demi Lovato.

Working on: Balancing out my life. I think I'm doing an alright job, but I'd like to do better. I've been working a lot lately and, while I really love my job and making money, I wish I wasn't working so many hours a day. I want to spend time with friends before they all leave, and I also just want to take time to read and get things done. There are more things I want to do too and it's just a lot to get done in one day.

Picture from here and post idea from Dani at Sometimes Sweet!
Have an awesome day!

Busy

(from my Tumblr)

I've been taking some time off my computer and getting a lot done! I got a job (FINALLY) and I love it, so that's been using up a bunch of my time. Also, most of my friends are leaving for school and I've been helping them pack and stuff. It's fun but it's so sad because I'm still here for a few weeks after they leave. Well anyway, I'm still trying to finish Paper Towns so I can see it in theaters and I'm doing crafts and my friend and I have been trying to learn new songs on our ukes so we can play together. I love being busy!

Hope you're doing well.

August!

summer end
**
I can't believe it's actually August! Honestly, where did the last 2 months go? I don't go back to school for over a month, but a bunch of my friends leave in a couple weeks! Crazy.

Also, after months of searching, I finally got a real job! I'm going to be a receptionist at Great Clips starting Saturday. Better late than never - yay!

My love grows

Yesterday, my friend and I took a day trip to the city. It was great, as always! It just solidified my want to live there even more. We took the ferry from Staten Island over and it was a super cost effective way to do it! My favorite part of the day was putting my feet in the water at Washington Square Park. I only ever really go to NY in the Fall and Winter, so it was fun being there in 95 degree weather! We didn't really have solid plans, so we just kind of walked around and saw everything we wanted to see! It was nice to not be on a schedule. I love this city beyond words.
