Christmas good-byes

we have slowly been taking down all of our Christmas decorations. it's so sad! i guess it's ok though. it's just that first shock after everything is taken down, because the house is naked. the tree is down in my room now and i can finally see out of my windows! i think that i actually had trouble sleeping last night because it wasn't as dark in my room. no lie!

now, since Christmas is over, i'm ready for Summer. not Spring, Summer. i get super bad allergies in Spring and i HATE it, so i'm just ready to skip ahead to Summer. today the high was 29 degrees! whaaat?! i like Fall and i like Summer. that's it. oh, but i'm also ok if it snows! snow is so relaxing.

ok well i have homework. shoot. i just want to get it done so i can chill/nap/watch I Love Lucy/Tumbr/watch videos like this: :)

Happy New Year!

Happy 2012! it doesn't feel different haha but it's kind of weird how tomorrow in school i will be writing "1-3-12" on my paper. so on January 1, 2012 at midnight my dad and i went out in the front yard and did sparklers and fireworks we had leftover from the 4th of July! i've been wanting to do this for so long! i put the camera on long shutter and took the picture of the sparklers - look at that!!

2011, you've been good

ok, so i just found this really funny :) sorry 2011 :/

 i think 2012 is going to be a very good year! there will be a lot of change in the upcoming year. i'm really looking forward to it. i always say i'm going to try to change myself and become more outgoing or more talkative in school or something, but that never happens. i guess i can still try though - haha!

i would do a post with pictures of things that i have done in 2011, but:

1. i haven't moved my pictures onto my laptop yet

2. i did a post of things that i accomplished in Summer, and that's pretty much when i did all things interesting. so if i were to do a 2011 post, most of it would be the same things i did in that post. but go over and check out that post to see what i did!

oh, and Australia has a beautiful New Year's! look at it!! my neighbors are moving to Australia and it will be so cool for them to experience this!

Friday Fancies - New Year's Eve

the theme this week on {av}'s Friday Fancies is obviously NYE! is it stupid that it took me a while to figure out what "NYE" stood for...? oh Katie, it clearly means "New Year's Eve"! anyway, every year my friends and i plan to have a "party" (more like us dancing in the basement and watching movies the rest of the time), but it never seems to happen. usually at least, my friend Abby comes over and we play Sing It on the Wii, but this year she won't be here! so i guess this year is just one of those stay at home years where you actually have to try to stay up late because there's nothing you can do to entertain yourself enough to stay awake.

BUT, let's say i WAS going to New York to watch the ball drop..... this would be a fun outfit! once again, heels - not my thing. but in some outfits, all i can see it with is heels. like this one! plus it's New Year's, why not?! i'm kind of on the fence about the top, but whatever. too much ruffle? but look at that necklace!! it's an anchor! i don't think this outfit needed a necklace, but i love that one!! i'll probably be using it again.

when i'm on Tumblr, i always find pictures that remind me of Summer. and then that's the first thing that comes to my mind - "this makes me want Summer sooo badlyyyy!" these are just a few pictures that i came across, so i thought i would share... even though it snowed here today... so i guess we have a little ways until Summer.

ahh! look what i found! it's a website designed the spread the word of 'you are beautiful'. umm kind of perfect for me?! this is exactly what i want to spread!! and you can get STICKERS that say 'you are beautiful' on them to put all over the place to remind people that they are beautiful! all you have to do is send in a self addressed stamped envelope and they will give you stickers!

i'm so excited to receive my stickers! :)

hope you all are having a great day-after-Christmas haha it's always so sad when Christmas is over :/ no more Christmas music on the radio, no more 25 days of Christmas and eventually everyone takes down their decorations. i feel like i didn't get enough of all of it! at least we still have New Years. that's always a fun time! but for now i'm still trying to get over this horrific cold :(



a very fun visit

look! it's Alexandra!! i FINALLY got to see her on Friday!! it was SO awesome! i get to see her again on the 30th... but then she heads back :( it was really great though - we  had so much fun together like she never left. the same with Jennette! it was great to have us all back together and hanging out like we would on a random weekend :)

i would say this has been a wonderful Christmas season, with Alexandra and Jennette coming back and getting what i got for Christmas! tonight we are having Christmas dinner at our house, so i will see the family and we will play Wii like we do every year and it will be awesome! the only bummer this year was being sick :/ it was terrible to see all my friends and have a cold and i was so nervous i was going to get everyone sick, which i may have :( i will get better!!

hope you all had a good day... my day has been going downhill all day. i mean, just to prove it, i just spilled eggnog all over everything i own. ...ok maybe it was just my bag for school, and the floor, and a little on a pair of shoes. but nothing good has happened today!! i was so glad to end the day. hopefully tomorrow will be better! and i get to see Alexandra soon!!!

Friday Fancies - Sparkle and Shine

Friday! which means... only 9 days til Christmas!! this week {av}'s theme was sparkle and shine! perfect for a really fancy holiday party! i enjoyed this one - i went with a skirt this time instead of a dress because i think i choose dresses too much. i know there are plenty of sparkly shirts out there, so i went with this one! but i mostly thought i would focus on sparkly jewelry. i just realized i forgot a bracelet! oh well.

i chose the black and silver heels because i though they went perfectly! even though i probably wouldn't wear them haha and look at that ring! it's a penguin! too.cute. and great for this outfit+the holidays :)

a whirlwind December

so this week has been kind of crazy with the workload and all that junk. some days i'll only have one thing to do and others i'll have tons! i feel pretty good though because i actually finished the things that have been sitting in my agenda forever. wooo! but tomorrow i have an english test about a book. i'm SO not good with book tests. at all. so i stayed after today and she told us all the things we needed to know (hopefully) and i have so much written down. i came home today and studied my butt off, so we'll see! :)

and then next week i'll have tons of tests and quizzes that teachers just want to have before break, so that's great. oh my. well, i don't like rushing time, but i hope Christmas comes sooner! not just because it's Christmas, but because i want these tests to end! craziness.

but 1 week from today my lovely Alexandra comes home from China for a visit!! and in 8 days we will be having a sleepover together just like she never left! :) i'm so so so excited!!

Christmas List 2011 (for the most part)

so i thought i would share some items i have on my Christmas list! i feel like it's kind of... dumb? i don't really know the right word - but i feel like on Christmas, presents shouldn't be all that people talk about. i admit to doing it and on December 26 i'll probably be all excited to tell you what i got! so i mean i know we love the gifts Christmas morning, but remember what Christmas is really about as well!

i also love giving gifts! wrapping them is not my thing AT ALL, but i do love giving them to someone and then seeing their face when they get it! or just knowing that you gave someone something. it's so awesome!
