Altar of the Fatherland

**
I've probably posted this picture before, but it's one that I took of the Altare della Patria in Rome, Italy. It's my favorite building and I would say this is my favorite photo that I took! It's the background on my computer right now, and I thought I would share it here too.

How are you doing today? This week my friend is going on vacation, so I'm subbing as nanny for her and get to hang out with the kids she usually watches. Yay, money! I forgot what it looked like for a bit there.

Currently

I thought I'd put together one of these goodies - maybe it's the quickest way to get you up to date on my life?!

Loving: These rainy days! Like I said before, it's been raining cats and dogs here. I love it though. Rainy days are my favorite days. Even though I suck at driving in the rain, I'll take it any day. The sound, the darkness, the comfort. I love it so much.

Watching: I'm not a YouTube person, BUT I found Colby Brock and started watching his videos and then I started watching all of his roommates videos and then it turned into an addiction. They're so funny to me! But I also just binged Queer Eye and season 16 of Project Runway. Oh! And The Bachelorette and Jersey Shore Family Vacation! My interests in shows are diverse.

Reading: Right now I'm reading An Abundance of Katherine's by John Green because I actually haven't read that one before! So far so good, but I'm a fan of John Green, so..

Listening: So. Much. Let's see...
Honestly a ton more, but that's just a taste of what's been n repeat for me lately.

Eating: I've been trying to eat healthy (again)! So I thought I'd post what I like to eat. In the morning, I like a runny egg on avocado toast and maybe oatmeal with Nutella. I used to not like runny eggs, but now I do! I like to make a butt-load of chicken in the beginning of the week and live off of it for the rest of the week. So I'll make a salad or homemade chicken salad with it. My favorite thing to have with it is dried cranberries though, is that weird?

Thinking about: NYC! If you read my last post you know about this one, so I won't go on about it too much. I'm just really hoping something works out so I can move there really soon.

Looking forward to: Not going back to school in the Fall! It's actually super weird. Part of me is pretty sad to be honest. I really dislike PA, so having to stay here until I choose to move is a little daunting. However, I will not miss the papers that I bullshit and the exams I felt confident about but failed miserably :)

As always, the picture is from my Tumblr and the post idea is from Dani at Sometimes Sweet. What are you currently up to? Send me your links - I'd love to read!

Hello again! I made an Etsy shop!

Hey homies! Long time, no see! A lot has happened since I last posted - I graduated college and moved back home to PA. It's been a roller coaster. I really miss Boston, but all of my days are spent applying for jobs in my dream spot: NYC! If you've been with me for a while you know how big my love for the city is and remember these oldie-but-goodie posts:

(they're all posts about my goal of living in NYC)

My goal has been New York for about 10 years now and that's what I'm going to do. We'll see where life leads me, and if it isn't NYC at first, then so be it. However, I'm determined to get there ASAP. Right now I'm currently trying to save to just move there so I can work a part time job while I search for a full time. I really don't need much, but I'm unemployed right now, and that post-grad bank account isn't looking so hot.

This brings me to my next point: I made an Etsy shop! After much peer pressure, I did it. I added some clay items I've made over the years that are looking for a happy home. I'm about to add some collage pieces I made recently and hopefully some knitted items in the near future. I really hope you check it out and share it if you can! I know how pricey art can be, so I tried to make them as reasonable as possible (about $15-$20 each!).

I named it Art Speaks because, in art therapy, art speaks when words don't. Art has an incredible way of creating community and inclusivity, and if people don't buy anything from my shop, I hope they get the urge to create something themselves because art does heal.

Here are some sneak peeks of pieces in the shop so far:

I hope you're all doing so well! I hope to post on here again, but I'm so focused on NYC and other things that my mind isn't on the blog quite yet. I really do love posting on here and I never hope to end blogging. I just need to get a burst of creativity and comfort in where and who I am, and then I'll be back at it again - I promise! Blogging, as well as many other things, is such a source of therapy for me and I'm happy I have this space.

Happy really late Tuesday, really early Wednesday, loves! Is it raining where you are? It's rained in PA non stop for the past 5 days!
