Fingers crossed

Today  I had another internship interview and it was for one that I'm really interested in! So, naturally, I was super nervous. Why does that always happen?! Anyway, the whole thing went pretty well, but I so badly wish that I could do it over again. I have so many better answers to her questions! Ugh, I'll just have to cross my fingers I guess. It's at a recovery high school right in the center of Boston and it would be such a cool experience!

Flower shop. Kodak Gold II expired since 1994.

This morning after the interview, I went to a cafe to do homework and then did some touristy things with my friend and her relatives. It was a good time! It's fun being a tourist in my own city. I feel so cool just walking around, not necessarily needing to see everything, but just watching the reactions of new people. You know?

I love this photo by wildheather! She took it using expired film - genius!

I hope you had an awesome Thursday! It was so warm here today. It was crazy windy, but it was still an awesome day!

Happy Easter!

blooms, part five
I just wanted to pop in and wish you all a happy holiday! I'm staying at my school this year, but I had a good day because I explored the city a little bit. Turns out a lot of people come to Boston for Easter!

Take today to relax and eat 10 bags of mini Cadbury Eggs!

Lip color

You know what I've been obsessed with lately? Lipstick! Here's the story: I was never really a lipstick person because I have a super red face naturally, so I always felt that red and pink lipstick just made it stand out more. However, a few weeks ago a friend and I went into Lush and I tried their lip color called Confident (pictured below) and I LOVED it. I was complimented so much and I felt so confident! (Wait... I just noticed that it's called confident and that's also how I felt while wearing it... Lush, you're so sly.)

I also found this one in Anthropologie called Black Cherry and it was $14, so not totally what I'd like to spend, but I was really feeling it when I put it on! It didn't really compare with the Lush one, but it still made me feel super confident!

Being broke, I didn't want to spend almost $20 on a lip color, so I thought I would wait until I got back to PA and then I'd just go  to Target because I was pretty confident I would find a similar color for less than $10. It was actually really hard! I found 2 that I really love, even though they don't really compare. I've been wearing them almost everyday!

The first one is by Revlon and it's also called Black Cherry. I'm actually wearing this one right now. It's a little more red than I wanted, but I love how dark it is. That is essentially what I was looking for: a dark color.

I went back to Target the next day because I still wanted a color that was more plum than red, and I searched and searched and I finally found one. It was honestly the only dark plum color I could find in all of the make up isles! Maybe next time I should just go to Ulta and splurge a little more..? The one that I found is by Maybelline and it's called Possessed Plum. It's dark and beautiful! It's supposed to be matte, but I don't really see that when I put it on.

Anyway, I really wanted to share these colors because I'm so happy I finally found a lip color that I feel good in! Who knew it would be dark?

Do you love lipsticks? What are your favorites?

This picture is so amazing. I wish I could just take a few months off and go somewhere. I need to experience more of the world!

Loving: (Sorry to be so repetitive here, but...) I love being back at school! Like I said in this post, being home was fun because, yes, I do miss my car and my dog, but my parents drive me SO crazy and I love being back at school and having my own space again. Plus, Boston!

Watching: I started re-watching Parks and Rec and it's been keeping me very occupied... (I've been watching it non stop). It's such a comfort show, you know?! Let's see... I've also been watching reality shows, similar to last month. Reality shows are my jam. I'm really loving Survivor this season! My new life goal is to meet Tai (anyone know what I'm talking about? Bueller? Bueller?)

Reading: I'm actually still reading One Plus One by Jojo Moyes. I haven't had much time to read for pleasure for a while! I read a lot on the flights I had last week, but I need to read more. I'm also reading All Souls by Michael MacDonald for my internship class. It's really great! It's a fun read while living in Boston because there is so much history here.
Anticipating: The last 6 weeks of school! It's kind of crazy how fast it's flying by. My friends and I talk about that all the time - where are the days going?? It's going to be fun to go outside more when it gets warmer and I can't wait to soak in the last bits of this city before I leave for 4 months :( (AHHH I just realized that 4 months is so long to not be in Boston!)

Listening: Oh, many things! The songs are so random, though. Most of them are older and I'm just listening to them now. Let's see... Coffee by Sylvan Esso, Ophelia by the Lumineers (so good!), For Those Below by Mumford and Sons, and I'm really loving Pillowtalk by Zayn! OH and that song 7 years by Lukas Graham.

Working on: My health and Happiness. I'm trying to get in a healthier rhythm with eating and working out. Hot yoga has been really helpful with that, but I don't do it all the time. I want to run around Harvard when the weather gets nicer. I want to look at the little things and appreciate more. I feel confident that I can do these things without a problem over the next few weeks!

What have you been up to? Write your own 'currently' post and link to me! I'd love to read them! Thanks to Dani from Sometimes Sweet for this post idea and the picture above is from my Tumblr :)

Flowers + Smiles

How pretty are these flowers? I picked some up today - they never cease to make me smile. Fresh flowers are the best, especially since it's finally Spring! I bought too many so I gave some away too. I live in a house/dorm... it's kind of hard to explain... but I gave them to some people in my house and my out housekeeper! She was so happy about it, I was so glad to put a smile on other people's faces, as well as my own :)

Happy Spring!

Hey everyone! I feel like it's been so long. I've been posting, but those were just drafts I had saved for a while. I wasn't really super busy over break, but I definitely was busy enough to not have time to put love into a new post. I'm happy to be back!

Spring break was much needed, but I'm extremely happy to be in Boston again for 6 weeks. That time is going to fly by! I'm going to take in every bit of this great city while I'm here for the rest of the semester! Being at home is always a little hard for me - it's fun being with my car, dog, and friends, but I don't have an awesome relationship with my parents. This past week was definitely an emotional rollercoaster.

Last night I was feeling really really down (a lot to explain, but I'll just keep it at that). It took a lot to get me back up to par, but since then I've created an Instagram just for positivity. It's mostly just for myself, kind of like a public journal, because most of what I write on there is what I write in my journal. I followed a bunch of positivity Instagrams and I'm excited to start my own 'happiness project', if you will :) The name of my account is @enjoytodaykatie, based off of my tattoo! Head over if you want a little good energy or want to spread some of your own!

I love tea

I hope you're all doing really well. I can't wait to get back into a rhythm this week. I feel so much better after last night and I'm so happy with where I am, the profession I'm studying, and all the good things that are to come ahead. Here's to the last weeks of the semester and the start of Spring/Summer!

Street style

So I was researching good places around the world to study art therapy and I found that Florence is a really great place for it! While I was looking that up, though, I also found that Florence has great street style. I mean look at this...

Go, Italy!

Recently pinned: Cozy dorms

I kind of like the idea of doing this "recently pinned". I've seen other bloggers do it too! Over Winter break I did a lot of Pinterest-ing dorm rooms because I was super excited to move to a newer, nicer one. I wanted something really different! Right now I have blue sheets, but I want to swap those out for some white ones and get some calmer pillow cases and then I think I'll be set. Here are some pins that inspired me:

They're all from my Pinterest, but I also linked to the actual source to save you a trip ;)

Karl Lagerfeld

Look at Karl Lagerfeld's Parisian home! He's collected about 300,000 books... that's so many! This man inspires me more than I thought.

Link love

Sorry for the super random photo for this post. This picture makes me really happy, though!

I've been loving the blog Something I've Noticed - Melissa is such a good writer. Her blog has such a home-y feel and I love reading what she has to say all the time. Check it out!

This Flickr account is so great! I caught myself scrolling through her photo stream for a while.

This bedroom is so pretty!

This video makes me want to be Kendall Jenner so badly Ugh, she's perfect.

This is my absolute favorite lip color at the moment! I'm usually a fan of getting beauty products from here, but I just can't find another lip color that compares.

Bad day? Read a few of these quotes. You might not feel completely better, but you'll definitely feel some sort of boost!

I've had this song on repeat lately.

I'm so in love with this city I call home - Boston.

My favorite ice cream! I like anything matcha, really.

Have a great day!

I'm finally 2 decades old! Wow, time flies. On this special day-of-all-days, I am taking 2 midterms and then quickly catching a flight to PA! I'm feeling the love this year, forsure. Looking back at a year ago, I'm so, so much happier and I'm quite grateful for that.

Here's to the next 20 years, I guess!

Warmth in the Commons

The weather yesterday was SO perfect here! I absolutely loved it. It was almost 80 degrees! I couldn't pass it up, but I still had midterms to study for, so I dragged my friend with me to the Commons and we laid a blanket out and just chilled there for about 5 hours. We drank some iced coffee, people watched, and read while the sun shined along the Boston skyline. It was pure bliss.

Photos by me, taken with a Nikon D3100 18-55 mm lens.

It's rainy here today, but I'm busy studying, last minute shopping, and packing before I head back to PA tomorrow! Hope you're having an awesome day!

Titanic: behind the scenes

If you know me, you know I love Titanic. I was looking up things about James Cameron and I found really cool pictures of him directing them in funny places. It's just fun to see the mix of the costumes, water, and cameras. Behind the scenes pictures are so good! I could watch this movie forever.

Friends weekend

As I said in this post, my friends from PA came this weekend! It was so fun having them here. It definitely got cramped in my tiny room and I slept on the floor for 3 days, so I'm missed my bed, but overall, it was an awesome weekend! I think I showed them all the best spots and we saw a lot in only 3 days. I hope they come up again!

It was also nice having a personal photographer follow me around Boston for a little bit ;)

High School Musical, 2006

I love this simplistic photo set of movie stills from the first High School Musical movie! I can't believe they're coming out with a fourth one... I'm not a fan of the idea. It's crazy how all of these shows and movies are just coming out with more and more - Gilmore Girls, Full House, Finding Dory. It's getting to be a little nuts! What do you think?
