Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

NO SPOILERS!

I just wanted to ask if you've seen it yet?? Wow, I just thought it was incredible. The way it was filmed, the small messages throughout the whole thing, the way the characters were brought in. ASP is such a brilliant writer for the show and I'm so happy with how she did the revival. It was so artistically done. I'm curious to know what you think! I want to say my thoughts so badly, but I definitely don't want to spoil anything (especially the last 4 words!) for anyone.

So great - give me your thoughts! After I finished it, I was going through so many emotions. I cried throughout Winter SO much. I'm not sure what to do with myself now, so I think I'll watch it again haha!

Tumblr

I was scrolling through Tumblr and (as always) found some awesome posts, so instead of doing a link post with them, I thought I would just screenshot them and share them directly with you. Some are funny, some are cute, some are inspirational. Enjoy!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and Black Friday!

Give thanks!

**
My day consists of watching the Macy's Parade while eating cinnamon buns, watching the National Dog Show with my dog, going to my aunt and uncle's house for dinner where I'll eat and talk about how I'm doing in school to a bunch of people I've never met, then come home and go to my friend's house to eat dessert, and then we'll go walk around Target because that's our favorite thing to do and how fun is it to walk around Target at midnight?!

I hope you all have a great holiday!

How many of you have seen this movie? Ugh, so fantastic.

P.S. My posts might be sparse this week because of the holiday and all! I hope you all have a great week full of turkey and gratuity!

Sweater wishlist

It's that time of year! Well, it's kind of been that time of year. I'm back home in PA and it snowed the other day! What's better than cozying up in a comfy sweater? Here are my recent favorites:

I've been really into turtlenecks and long cardigans, if you can't tell! Any sweaters on your radar?

Have you seen this movie? I haven't, but I saw these stills and thought I had to share. If you've seen the movie, let me know what you thought!

"It's that thing when you're with someone, and you love them and they know it, and they love you and you know it... but it's a party... and you're both talking to other people, and you're laughing and shining... and you look across the room and catch each other's eyes... but - but not because you're possessive, or it's precisely sexual... but because... that is your person in this life. And it's funny and sad, but only because this life will end, and it's this secret world that exists right there in public, unnoticed, that no one else knows about. It's sort of like how they say that other dimensions exist all around us, but we don't have the ability to perceive them. That's - That's what I want out of a relationship. Or just life, I guess."

Wow, so beautiful. My friend Alexandra lived in Shanghai for 4 years and I really wish that I used that opportunity to visit her and the country. She lived there from 9th-12th grade and I'm only 1 year older, so it just wasn't an adventure I was ready to take at that age. If she was living there now, I would now doubt book a flight and head over ASAP! Ahh, how I wish I could have seen this. There's still time, I suppose. Haha!

Today was terrible

This sounds so cheesy, but do you ever have those days where absolutely nothing goes right? I mean, of course. We all have! Today was one of these for me. I woke up feeling good, but then everything went downhill from there. Like, EVERYTHING. It was a terrible day and even by 2:00 pm I was completely ready for it to be over. I just wanted to crawl in my bed and sleep for years. Now I sound like I'm exaggerating, and obviously I am, but it was a bad day.

Anyway. Part of me wants to write down everything that happened, but I think I'll just save it to write in my journal. I wasn't super excited to go home because I'll miss Cambridge and my roommates, but after today all I want to do is board a plane out of Massachusetts. I'm so stressed and angry. Tomorrow I have my internship and then on Friday I took off work, so I just have a doctor's appointment and I think I'll get off campus and walk around the city for a bit. Maybe I'll wander around the North End as I haven't had the chance to explore much up there yet.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better! I hope your day wasn't nearly as bad as mine. Hang in there, little tomato!

Also: beautiful photos by Lukas B. I've been scrolling through Flickr for the past hour or 2 and it's been a great source of therapy.

So random, but yesterday I was at work (I work at a grocery store) and it's usually pretty boring there. It can either be extremely hectic or extremely boring, there's really no in between. In my downtime I just stand there and think about stuff. I started to think about how back in first grade my teacher would put up a sum of change on the board and we'd have to come up with the littlest amount of coins to make that.

While I was standing there, something just came over me like, "wow, where has time gone?" It was a weird moment. I thought to myself "Would 7 year old Katie ever think 20 year old Katie would be going to school in Massachusetts and working in a grocery store?" Probably not. My, how we move along.

I'm just really glad I'm getting the chance to study abroad. I'm happy to actually get out and experience the world, because sometimes I feel like I'm not living life to the fullest. I definitely understand that we need jobs and money, and the jobs might not be glamorous, but it's something. I just think that 7 year old Katie would much rather hear that 20 year old Katie is traveling the world rather than working part time at a grocery store. You know?

(And) the winner is

This song came on my Pandora the other day and it really had me itching to watch a certain movie. Anyone know what?

...Little Miss Sunshine! It was about a year ago that I watched this movie for my abnormal psychology class and wrote a paper on it. (I really miss that class!) I'm so glad it introduced me to such a fantastic movie that is now one of my favorites. I haven't seen it in a while, but I think I'll have to dust it off and give it another watch sometimes soon!

SUCH a perfect movie.

Irving Penn

At my school right now, we have an Irving Penn exhibition and I finally check it out tonight. He's a photographer from the 20th century that started off shooting fashion photography for magazines. It was fabulous! I love anything where art and fashion are mixed (TechStyle, Manus x Machina), so the simple photography of his is so beautiful.

Are you familiar with his work?
If you're in the Boston area, check it out!
