HCR and BTR

well last night was pretty much an amazing night. let's start with my boyz, Hot Chelle Rae! we missed a little bit of the beginning, but it's ok and it was so FREAKING exciting. i freaked. i love them. after they performed, i asked someone if they were having a meet and greet and they told me to talk to another guy and pointed me to him.

i talked to someone that works for Hot Chelle Rae!!! it was pretty much the best thing ever. and i didn't just ask him a question-i had a conversation with him!! wow it was GREAT.

so that was the end of my dream. then we went up to our seats for Big Time Rush! it's not as far as it looks in this picture haha



anyway... it was awesome and i hope to go to a real Hot Chelle Rae concert soon! i need to stop talking about them haha - but OHMYGOSH.

i seriously just looked at this Flickr for like 2 hours. i love it!!

also, school was cancelled toady because of flooding. it's so crazy! it's supposed to KEEP raining too. i love rainy days, but this is too much haha. yesterday my friend Emmy and i went frolicking in the rain, and that is definitely my favorite thing to do on rainy days. especially when it's pouring and you can just run around in the rain :)

today we got out of school early because of flooding. the amount of rain we are getting is CRAZY! and its supposed to keep going the rest of the week. can you imagine if this was snow?! we wouldn't even be able to get out the door because it would be so high!

so i just want to say how much i love my family in this post.

duh - i love them like crazy! but tonight i went to my nanas and my moms side was there, and i see them more than my dads. but i just love how my uncle and i tease each other and we all sat around and played the name game. and at Christmas we all sit around and play the Wii almost the whole time. and just how we do all kinds of stuff together!

that was such an obvious post, but i wish all my family lived right next to me :)

so because of school, i haven't watched Degrassi all week. last night was the final episode and someone got shot!!! i'm so excited to watch the 4 episodes i missed!! GAHH what is going to happen??? ...don't tell me.

ahh yes. so it's only been 3 days since school started and i'm already staying up until 11 to finish homework. chin up, Katie!

anyway, that's the reason i haven't really been blogging. my schedule for the past..3? days has been - wake up at 6:30 and do all the morning crap, go to school, go to tennis, eat dinner, homework, sleep, repeat. after a few weeks, it will all be good. this year will be good.

ok well on that note, hope you all are having a good week! :)

Summer slump

so tomorrow school starts, which also means Summer ends. so in this post i thought i would do 2 things and say what i have done and what i seem to have missed on my Summer list.

i went to Alexandra's swim meet for the first time!

 i tye dyed my first shirt!

i highlighted my hair for the first time!

i went into a cave for the first time!

we had Alexandra's going away party and also had to say good bye to her for her 2 year journey in China

aaaand went to the beach!

sooo that's pretty much what i did and of course more, less interesting, things. now onto my Summer List. haha this didn't go as well as  planned - i didn't watch all of the Harry Potter movies, i didn't make macaroons, and I DIDN'T BE A VEGITARIAN for a week or so. wahh wahh. oh well - i will do all of the things i missed at some point!!

anyway, i really don't want to go to school tomorrow and have to wake up at 6:30 every morning.

oh well. here's what i think - i start my day with photography everyday and end it with spanish everyday. i also get my permit this school year and i'm no longer a freshman! i really do think this will be a great year :)

so apperently hurricane Irene is on its way! i think it's supposed to start raining here Saturday night and then all day Sunday. i'm not sure what it will be like, but probably no big deal. the other day we had an earthquake (which i didn't feel at all, but apperently everyone else in York did, so that's kind of weird.) this weather is craziness. and a perfect way to begin school - dreary and sad. ;)

oh and check out this website!! my friend, Jennette, posted about it on tumblr and i just remembered it because i saw it in all the posts i liked. it's pretty awesome, and i love giraffes haha

p.s. the last 4 episodes of Degrassi: Now or Never are this week!! this is SO exciting!

this past week i did a lot of shopping (well not that much, but i'm really happy with all the stuff i got!) i'm trying to change my room around, but since my bed is so huge, i really can't do much, so i'm getting new stuff (not a new bed, just new pictures etc.) to sort of switch it up ;)

oh, and my dad got a new car to get to and from his new job! (sorry for the picture quality - i took it from my phone and then made it bigger on here which made it all pixely):

and i got the Movie Valentine's Day, which i haven't seen for awhile, so i'm really excited to watch it!

a lot of change going on now a days haha plus school starting in less than a week. where the heck did summer go?!

Applesauce Breakfast Cake

so the other day i was making Applesauce Breakfast Cake and i make it so often that i thought i should share it with you! this is really easy and it tastes really good. the recipe is actually from my 6th or 7th grade cooking class!

here's the recipe:

first you pre heat the oven to 350 degrees F and then in a small bowel mix 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon butter, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (and 1/4 cup walnuts if you wish)

then in another bowel you mix 1 cup flour, 1/3 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, and a dash of salt

and you're supposed to do this in another separate bowel, but i think that's a waste of a bowel and more cleaning, so i just mix it with the dry ingredients. in the same (or separate bowel) mix 1/2 cup applesauce (which is actually a whole cup of the applesauce you normally eat)

may i also point out my stick on nail "polish"! it looks so real and it's holding on pretty well too!

anyway, along with the applesauce you mix, 1 egg, 1/4 cup of vegetable oil, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

it actually doesn't make many, so to fill all of these i had to make 2 batches

stick them on the middle (or closer to the top) rack of the oven

for 20 minutes

and then the worst part - cleaning up



aaaand i forgot to take a picture of the final result?? shoot. well they are really good and you can barely taste the applesauce, so i call it my secret ingredient ;) also, if you noticed, this was the first time i tried it as a muffin. it's supposed to be a cake! oh well, it's really good either way!

this is one of my and probably everyone else's favorite places to take pictures. there's a little shed that looks like a house and a perfect place to sit right in front of it. i would love to have a picnic or something there sometime! isn't it perfect?

the first 2 pictures were from the photoshoot with Abby and i yesterday and the last one is from awhile ago. we will probably always take a picture at this spot!
